The magic wool
Wool is both antibacterial and dirt repellent, which means that very often it takes care of itself to a great extent. You can often cope for a long time by drying, brushing and hanging on the air. If you feel that you really need to wash your wool jacket, then use the wool program (normal program not OK) 30 degrees. It is also important that you have a fairly modern machine. The double wool blanket can shrink about 5% while woolspeed goes back to its original form when washed.
Remember that you do not combine our wool jackets (especially woolspeed) with clothes that have hard parts, eg zippers. A laundry bag can protect your wool blanket a little extra when you wash.
Preferably use wool detergent and be sure to use the right dosage. Form the garment after washing and let it dry flat on, for example, a towel.
Out-n-out Power Stretch
Power Stretch Pro fleece should not be washed too often – often airing is enough to bring back its freshness. When airing is not enough, the garments should be machine-washed on a gentle wash at 40 °C.
WASHING BAG: To minimize the amount of microfibre leaking into the nature, it is good to use a wash bag when washing your Power Stretch. Wipe the bag and filter in the machine from fluff and toss in the trash (do not rinse the fluff as it may end up in our water). There is a special laundry bag called GuppyFriend that is available for purchase in various places.
How should I wash my Neoflex?
Machine wash on a warm permanent press cycle (105º F/40º C) using a small amount of liquid detergent or performance wash. Rinse twice, minimize spinning to reduce creasing. Do not use soap, powder detergents or any products that contain fabric softeners, conditioners, stain removers, or bleach as they will damage the membrane. Do not wash with heavily soiled clothing.
Line dry your garment. Once it is dry, place in a dryer set to a low setting for 20 minutes to reactivate the durable water-repellent (DWR) treatment on the outer fabric. If unable to tumble dry, iron the dry garment on gentle setting (low, no steam) by placing a towel or cloth between the garment and the iron. This will help reactivate the DWR treatment on your garment’s exterior fabric.
When should I reproof my jacket's Durable Water Repellency (DWR) coating?
DWR garments have a topical coating that allows water to bead off. When you notice water droplets soaking in the shell exterior (ie water no longer beads or pearls), its repellency needs to be reactivated through washing and drying. When the factory-applied treatment can no longer be reactivated, apply a water-repellent treatment available as a pump-spray or wash-in product to restore the garment’s DWR performance.
At Out-n-out we don't use softener or tumbling.
The softener may attach to the fabric fibres and impair its properties. There are substances in softener that are difficult for nature to break down at the same time as it contains substances that can cause reactions to the dog's skin if it is sensitive. Try to plan your washes to allow air dry instead of tumble drying to reduce energy consumption and spare the garments.
