“-It’s our responsibility to keep our dogs strong and healthy”

Jenny is one of few dog owners having the luxury of working with dogs 24/7. For almost 20 years, she has represented Sweden in the national team; and has accumulated numerous medals in championships over the years. Jenny puts a lot of work into training her dogs and a lot of the time goes into keeping them strong, agile and healthy.

Why is it important for you, to take care of your dog’s physical well being?

It is the foundation of everything. We want our dogs to be prepared to give it all and to perform their very best. We require quite a lot of our dogs at high speed, so it’s an duty for us to make sure they are as strong, healthy and agile as possible.

What is your number one tip, for dog owners who want to prevent injuries?

Make sure to give them a variety of good daily exercise, such as fast walks and running in proper terrain, swimming etc. Warming up and cooling down when training is incredibly important for the dog if you want to prevent straining/pulling muscles and other injuries. Having a good jacket before and after exercise is a very easy, but also an important detail.

When and why do you use jackets on your dogs?

We use the jackets for warming up and down and when they are passive, in the car or the cage. Having a jacket is important when you want to keep the muscles smooth and warm. After extra hard training, we can even use a jacket indoor for more efficient recovery.

Do you have different jackets for different situations?

Yes, if it's very cold, we have a wool jacket underneath with a lined rain jacket on top, this makes the dogs stay very warm. Under normal circumstances, we have only the wool jacket, it keeps them warm and is very smooth, even if they are in motion. If we use a jacket indoors, it's the wool jacket.

What is important with a good jacket?

Naturally, to keep the dog warm, but it should also be easy to put on and off the dog. The dog needs to be comfortable and able to move freely. It is important that the jacket covers the important muscle-groups down on the legs. If it is raining, the jacket needs to be water resistant to keep the dog comfortable and dry.

What is your absolute favorite jacket and why?

After trying a lot of different jackets, we are pleased with the Out-n-out jackets. Out-n-out has a range that covers all the situations we have mentioned, that is important to us. Not only do they meet all our criteria’s, they are handmade in Sweden, which feels very good.

If you were to pick your favorite Out-n-out jacket, which one would it be.

Oh, that’s a difficult choice, they are all really good! But if I had to choose one, I have to say the Wool jacket. It's easy for the dog to wear, keeps the temperature extremely well and the dog is comfortable.

What is your best Out-n-out memory?

When we won our first wool jacket, and we discovered what great a product it is! Now, when choosing a jacket for my dogs, Out-n-out is my first choice. And the diversity in products fulfills my dog's needs. Out-n-out covers it all!
